How It Works
The Food Pantry of Indian River County is a 100% volunteer operated organization. Utilizing space donated by a local church, The Food Pantry is able to spend 90%+ of all monetary donations on food.
Because we purchase in bulk from The Treasure Coast Food Bank and local grocery chains we are able to effectively leverage donations.
In 2025 The Food Pantry distributed over 380,000 pounds (165 tons) of food, enough for over 325,000 meals to residents of Indian River County.
With the demographics of Indian River County, over 50% of our clients are children or seniors.
In 2025, over 2,300 households received support from The Pantry, with the average household making use of these services 2-3 times per year. The Pantry is open 5 days per week and is currently providing food to about 50 households per day.
Households can access food support up to twice per month if needed.
