How It Works

The Food Pantry of Indian River County is a 100% volunteer operated organization. Utilizing space donated by a local church, The Food Pantry is able to spend 90%+ of all monetary donations on food.

Because we purchase in bulk from The Treasure Coast Food Bank and local grocery chains we are able to leverage donations acquiring over $3.00 of food for every donated dollar.

In 2024 The Food Pantry distributed over 300,000 pounds (150 tons) of food, enough for over 250,000 meals to residents of Indian River County.

With the demographics of Indian River County, over 50% of our clients are children or seniors.

In 2024, approximately 3000 households received support from The Pantry, with the average household making use of these services twice per year. The Pantry is open 5 days per week and is currently providing food to about 45 households per day.
